Brown County Port & Solid Waste Department Information
The Brown County Port & Solid Waste Department has launched an expanded and updated website, www.BrownCountyRecycling.org . The site features a new look, new navigation tools and up-to-date information on recycling, household hazardous waste and solid waste disposal.
The site includes a quick-hit button to provide users with a way to find out "What do I do with...?" The goal of the site is to be the single source for answers to common questions like; "What plastic containers can be recycled?", "Are shingles recyclable?", "Can I recycle plastic bags?", "Why isn't tissue paper and wrapping paper recyclable?", "How do I get rid of old paint?" as well as to provide visitors with a better understanding of what the Solid Waste Department does and its impact in the community. What is household hazardous waste, and how do I dispose of it? Is there a charge?
Household hazardous wastes are products that become dangerous to humans and the environment when disposed of improperly. In order to dispose of these products properly, it is necessary to identify them and where they go. In some cases there are nominal fees to dispose of these materials. Click here for a list of items, where they can be disposed, and even alternatives to using hazardous products.
Paint is considered a household hazardous waste and has its own rules of proper disposal. For more information on how to dispose of REGULAR paint, click here. For information on how to dispose of LATEX paint, click here. There are fees involved in the disposal of LATEX paint listed here.
Suamico does not have a household hazardous waste dump site. Residents are to use the Brown County Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 2561 S. Broadway, Green Bay, WI 54304, or call (920) 492-4950.
How do I properly dispose of toxic or dangerous materials such as paints, automotive fluids, or tires?
Partial cans of water-based paint may be dried out by taking the lid off and allowing the paint to evaporate. Then place it into a garbage bag and put it out with your regular garbage.
The Village of Suamico accepts waste oil. It can be dropped off at the Municipal Services Center located at 12781 Velp Avenue, Suamico, WI 54313, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Village of Suamico does not operate a recycling center. Please refer to the Brown County website for facilities that process these materials.
Where can I take junk like old appliances, furniture, batteries, etc.?
You can take junk to the Brown County Transfer Station, 3734 W. Mason Street, Green Bay. The transfer station can be reached at (920) 490-2706. A fee will be charged. Only checks and credit cards are accepted and you must have a fluorescent vest on, if you do not have one, one can be purchased for $5 at the Transfer Station.
There is an area to drop off used appliances and batteries for recycling at the Municipal Services Center in the back lot. Items such as TVs, monitors, refrgerators and freezers are accepted for recycling with a fee. Fees are charged per signage posted in the area or call ahead for pricing.
Batteries can also be brought to the Brown County Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 2561 S. Broadway, Green Bay, WI 54304. A fee, by weight, will be assessed.
My garbage/recycling wasn't picked up. What should I do?
Harter's Fox Valley Disposal picks up our garbage and recycling. If you have any issues with pickup, please call them directly at 1-888-804-8556.

What is yard waste, and what should I do with it?
Yard waste is debris such as trimmed tree branches, leaves, grass clippings, etc. The Village of Suamico has a yard waste drop-off site located directly west of 2320 Elmwood Road, Scenic View Landscape. This site is gated and available from dawn until dusk everyday. Please place your debris according to the signs. The site is for Village of Suamico residents only, no commercial dumping is allowed.
