Beginning January 1, 2010, Wisconsin ACT 50 requires manufacturers to collect and recycle certain electronics, including computers, TVs, and printers. The law bans landfill disposal for electronics beginning September 1, 2010 (non-residential materials are already banned from landfills). Computers, computer accessories, TVs, cell phones, and other electronics contain harmful materials including lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, other heavy metals, and chemical flame retardants. Recycling protects against environmental issues and salvages reusable materials including plastics, glass, metals, and circuit boards, reducing the need for virgin materials in new electronics.

Items accepted free of charge include: computer hard drives, laptops, printers, keyboards, mice, LCDs, servers, fax machines, wire and cabling, telephone systems, modems, stereo systems, video equipment, cell phones, copiers, microwaves, small kitchen appliances, dehumidifiers, mechanical equipment, and machinery. Items accepted for a fee include: televisions, monitors, refrigerators and freezers. The collection area is located behind the building and includes a large white bin for smaller items. A cash box for fees and instructions are next to it. The area is monitored by a camera.
