The Fire Commission shall appoint the Fire Chief, review and approve the Chief's appointment of subordinates, adopt rules calculated to secure quality service in the department, determine the type of physical and educational examinations to be administered to prospective fire officers, designate the examiners who will conduct the physical and educational examinations, assure that appointments of subordinates are made in accordance with Wis. Stats. §62.13(4), conduct disciplinary hearings on charges filed against the Chiefs or their subordinates in accordance with Wis. Stats. §62.13(5), and such other duties as may be prescribed by law and the bylaws of the Commission.

Commission members are appointed to five-year terms and may not hold other public office for the Village of Suamico.  The Fire Commission meets at least annually in May on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6 p.m. and as otherwise deemed necessary by the Commission President.  The meetings are held at the Municipal Services Center, 12781 Velp Avenue.

Members include Timothy McNulty - President, Christopher Groth - Vice President, Randy Christopherson, Eric Perra, and Gerald Poels.
