1.) Where are Snowmobiles allowed?
Snowmobiles can only be operated on private property, in the ditches of a county highway, the Suamico River, or on a designated snowmobile route. You are not allowed to drive on a street or through a ditch to gain access to a snowmobile route. A snowmobile must be trailered to these routes.
2.) How do I get my snowmobile through the intersection of CTH B and CTH HS (Velp Ave)?
It is prohibited to operate a snowmobile through the intersection of CTH B and CTH HS (Velp Ave. The restrictions are due to the roundabout and right of way in that intersection. Snowmobiles must use an alternative snowmobile route, the Suamico river or trailer your snowmobile around the intersection. The intersection will be clearly marked by standard snowmobile regulation signs that indicate you cannot proceed through the intersection.
3.) How much is a citation for illegally operating my snowmobile through CTH B and CTH HS (Velp Ave)?
Generally, anyone caught entering or cross this intersection will be issued a citation for Failure to Comply with Route Signs which carries a fine amount of approximately $170.70.
