Village of Suamico, in partnership with Cats Anonymous, now offers TNR (trap/neuter/return) as an option when dealing with feral/semi-feral cats or barn cats.  The basic method of TNR involves cats in an area being trapped, spayed/neutered, rabies vaccinated, and ear-tipped for identification.  They are then returned to their territory where they are monitored and provided care by volunteer citizens called caretakers.

This option saves the Village approximately $100 per cat and the cost of dealing with subsequent offspring.

The Village of Suamico currently has approximately 75 cats in the program.  Anyone in Suamico feeding or caring for feral/semi-feral outdoor cats is encouraged to call Animal Control Officer, Monica Hoff, at (920) 819-6709 to join the program.  There is no cost to the individual.
